Dear friend,
We’re not writing to you as publishers. We’re writing as two people who have spent most of our lives in ministry.
Years ago, Tom was working in public relations at a small Christian college when a large church in Illinois called. They believed God wanted him to minister with them. Unsure, he asked his father-in-law, a church planter we both deeply respected, what to do. He told Tom about a small, struggling church on Long Island that needed loving guidance. Anyone would be drawn to Illinois, Tom thought. But who would go to the little church in New York? Like Isaiah, he said, “Here am I. Send me.”
That began 27 years of ministering with congregations. Along the way we learned patience. We learned to listen. We learned compassion. And we learned to use the gifts God gave us in His service.
Carol spent those years writing children’s Bible curriculum, thirteen-week series that ended with the children performing a musical. Tom edited the lessons and wrote or arranged the music. When a friend saw it all come together, he said, “Let’s form a publishing company!” We did. Our curriculum, play scripts, and music sold throughout North America for more than a decade.
In 2023, our son asked if we would consider buying the publishing company he had built, Two Penny Publishing. After much prayer, we did, in 2024. Today we help people turn what God has taught them into books.
So here is our question for you: has God entrusted you with a message that needs a wider audience?
Ministers are always studying, reading, and praying, then pouring what they learn into sermons, lessons, and counseling. You hold some of the most life-giving insight there is. Yet so many of you humbly believe you aren’t the one to put it in a book.
We believe the opposite. Your study, your humility, and the way you live out what you teach are exactly what make you one of the most qualified authors there is. You just need to know that, and to know there is a publishing partner that believes in you.
If that stirs something in you, we’d be honored to talk with you. No pressure and no sales pitch. Just a conversation about the message God has given you.
